Extraordinary statements from surviving engineers

Here is a clear and unadulterated statement that the two on-duty surviving engineers clearly state that there was massive amounts of water in the engine room. It is nothworthy that engineer Treu kept to this version in the first interrogation he was subjected to, but in consequent hearings omitted these facts. Treu even confirmed that efforts were made to try, via the emergency bilge pumps, excise the water that was entering the vessel.

Why this is of relevance is explained further under the Estonia tab on this page. For an even deeper analysis it is recomended to read the book “The Disregarded Witness”, which is available for order through links provided on the main page.

The book penetrates more deeply in to the case, whereas that which is presented here is more of a summary.
